The Sidemen charity match is this Saturday, and with me just creating this pop culture page, I thought it was only right to use bias to shine light on one of the greatest events that happens every year they feel like it.

So Who are The Sidemen?

The Sidemen or how others know as The Ultimate Sidemen, are a Youtube group from the U.K that don't shy away from controversy but also understand humility. The group is made up of 7 main members those including Vikkstar123, KSI, Miniminter, W2s (wrotetoshaw/squidget harry), Tbjzl (Tobi/black goalie), Zerkaa, and last but used to be most Behzinga, with an honorary member of JME the incredibly underrated person I'll say because he's not a rapper. KSI being the biggest member has always been the draw for the Sidemen, however without the Sidemen, KSI would still just be a halo clan. As a man, who has been a fan for over a decade now, I can say confidently with a little bit of bias, that the event that these regular men who had dreams created, is incredibly inspirational. From filming GTA funny moments to selling out Wembley, one of the most prestigious venues in the world, all for charity, truly incredible.

But enough with the compliments and to the facts, why do I believe this is the most underrated Pop culture event?

Well I lied, sort of. In the terms of mainstream media, especially in North America, no ones going to talk about it, even though a event raising millions for charity should, it won't, it never has. However, it is guaranteed going to be number 1 trending on social media, and is easily going to be one of the biggest charity/live events of the year, which is incredible and should be recognized more. Which is why I believe it is the most underrated event of the year. These guys sold out Wembley in less than a day but also keeping the tickets accurately priced so that every single person had a chance to attend. Affordable tickets for any event now a days is hard to come by, especially a event being held at Wembley, but they were selling tickets as low as 9$, this is a great thing despite the stupidity online. A lot of chatter saying the low price is the only reason they sold out Wembley, that is just not true. The Sidemen have such a loyal and strong fanbase that has followed them through ups and downs, if they wanted to gouge the fans and still sell out they could, and in the capitalistic world we live in, there would be no backlash, but they still decided for the betterment of their fans.

But charging more means more goes to charity?

No, that is not always the case, especially with the charity event these guys are hosting. Charging more, decreases the incentive to actually donate to the causes whilst the game is ongoing. Majority of the money created for charity comes from online donations, and if you are charging an outrageous amount to go to the event, less people are gong to be incentivized to actually donate, and will be more sceptic of what you are actually doing, even if you aren't doing anything wrong. Therefore, The Sidemen don't have to worry about that, they have been the pillar of Youtube, which is the most consumed entertainment source in the 21st century, for over a decade. Nobody disrespects them anymore, and every creator is more than grateful for an opportunity to play in the charity match, even though half of them don't understand Football/Soccer, that's just how much respect these men have.

From Kai Cenat the biggest persona in livestreaming right now, to Speed, arguably the most famous star when it comes to social media, to Mr.Beast, the most famous Youtuber of all time. All of these guys are the peak of what social media can provide for someone, but then you have Randolph, a rapper turned Pokémon trader, Lazarbeam, most famous Australian Youtuber, and Tom Brady lover, and XQC, the most famous Canadian streamer, even though he's from Quebec. The thing is, all of these guys who are famous in their own right, are not on the mainstream popularity like some movie stars or rappers that the Sidemen could get, but are still playing.

Why is That?

The Sidemen know their fans, and their roots. On multiple occasions they have explained why it wouldn't make sense to bring in movie stars or rappers with the exception of JME, even though he's not a rapper. They believe in loyalty, passion, and comradery, they want to give the opportunity to people who they can relate to, who are growing in the same roots they grew in, as well as giving their fans what they most want. In all honesty, the generations from millennial and under most likely would rather see their favorite Youtuber or social media star on the field then A list celebrity.

The match is sure to be entertaining no matter what, and the day will end with the majority of people who consumed the media, or participated in it happier than if there wasn't a match at all. That is what pop culture means, creating a culture that has no downside. The Sidemen Charity Match is great to conclude.
