A Quick Delusion of What Could Have Been?

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are the matchup for the Superbowl once again. Is it a good matchup? Yes. Is it a matchup the world wanted to see? No. WIll it result in a good game? Most likely, but the ladder options were so much better. There were 4 possible matchups for this Superbowl, let's take a little look through them:
Bills Vs. Commanders:
A classic rematch. This matchup is the game I believe the world wanted. 2 very gritty teams, one led by an outstanding rookie, one led by the arguable MVP. The unexpected vs. the unknown, 2 teams that grinded and had the hardest path to the game, neither one of them would give in. However, I do think Dann Quinn would out coach McDermott just like the Chiefs did, and it would come down to Josh Allen's big game ability.

BIlls Vs. Eagles:
This matchup doesn't have the same incentives as the other game, however we would be getting another MVP battle with Allen vs. Barkley. This game would show us just how important the running back position is in today's run dominant game. Would Josh Allen be able to outperform Hurts when it comes to throwing the ball? Can Hurts still throw the ball well enough in big games when his second option is gone? Main reason people wanted this game though is because of how sick and tired we are of seeing Mahomes in the game. Which leads to the next 2 games.

Chiefs vs. Commanders:
This game, personally was my second favorite outcome, the rookie sensation Jayden Daniels vs. Pat Mahomes arguably a top 3 quarterback of all time. Other than Saquon Barkley; Jayden Daniels and Mahomes have been the top performers, would have been wicked to see them go toe to toe, could have even been a premonition of a future torch passing game. As well as, Dann Quinn the former defensive minded legend, who not only led 1 one the best defenses of the 2010’s but 2 with the Legion of Boom Seattle in 2014 and then again with one of the most dominant Atlanta defenses of all time in 2016. Him vs. Reid, who will go down as one of the best of all time going, toe to toe on the biggest stage would have lead to a coaching masterclass or disaster class like back in Super Bowl 51.

Chiefs vs. Eagles:
Welp here it is, the rematch no one wanted outside of Kansas City, Philadelphia, the NFL, and media. I blame those last 2 entities for giving us this rematch. The only person that is relatively exciting in this game is Saquon Barkley. I’m not saying this game won't be good, but we have watched both these teams all year, and we know what we're getting. Odds are there will be a terrible call that changes the whole mentality of the other team. This is not a Chiefs problem, they just allow it to happen and ignorant to the media afterwards, can’t really blame a team for something that's not their doing. However, the calls still happen because Goodell knows the buzz and attention it causes which is a quick profit. Goodell has never cared about a fair, safe game, he only cares about profit and legacy. Personal greed and legacy matter far more to them than an actual competitive game, but it's not just the NFL, just look into how far FIFA went to cover up some of their scandals.
Anyways, I do believe this Superbowl will be memorable, especially if Saquon wins Super Bowl MVP, just to put the cherry on top of the Giants terrible head office. As long as the refs don’t interfere too much it could be a great game, but nowadays that's a very hard task. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst, the new NFL.
